Many of my posts over the last week have been tinged with my struggle with contentment. I am struggling to be content with being at college.
Don't get me wrong, I have loved being able to come to college, but what with many of my friends graduating next week, I do wish that I was one of them.
I feel the tension of only being in parish one day a week, and wish it were more.

I, for my part, don't like the feeling of living in two worlds, the church world and the college world. It feels like the two have very little to do with each other.
I'd agree on that point - church and college do feel entirely separate a lot of the time to me also. Makes it very hard - emotionally, relationally and sometimes spiritually. It's only been since I started college that I realised what an incredible job the student ministers at my home church used to do and how much I took them for granted!
Hang in there Bec. Will be praying for you!
And as one who's now on the 'other side' can I say that while it is a hard tension to feel, it is a good one.
On the one hand, college is an immense privilege, we learn so much and grow in our love and knowledge of our heavenly Father. Yet on the other hand, we long for more time to spend with people, to love and serve them, the whole reason we are at college in the first place.
Keep hanging in there, knowing that the people who you serve amongst on Sundays are glad to have you there and are praying for you!
Oh dude,
I feel your pain! I could have written this post myself!
One day a week doesn't scratch the surface when you're trying to build relationships, particularly with youth, and man, I don't even have a single class that happens on campus at college, so it's fully of people I don't know!
Just to make matters worse, with no trinity here, we wont even get your visits!
thanks guys!!
Goldy - why are all your subjects offsite this year?
and don't forget - you can always invite me over for dinner. Trinity didn't hold the exclusive rights for that :)
I want in on that dinner invitation if its going to happen...
